Michael's pearl
Jul. 21st, 2010 11:50 pmAfter a lot of conversations about bugs and how to get rid of them from our house and especially kids’ rooms because Michelle (18m) has an allergic reaction to something that we don’t even know, Michael (7) announced a war on bugs.
When I came to the daycare from work, Michael went outside to play and then came back to tell me very proudly that he has been killing a lot of bugs. I did not like that attitude and gave him a lecture that bugs are alive things and if they don’t bother him, he should not touch them. I told him that they are live creatures only very little. I asked him to imagine if there would’ve been giants and he would’ve been as small as those bugs to the giants. Then I asked him if he would like if giants would be able to kill, etc….
I asked him if he feels sorry about killing live creatures and if he has any compassion and empathy for live things. Listen what he said back to me very loudly:
-THEY ARE NOT LIVE!!!! THEY DON’T HAVE PENIS!!!!
My mom was changing Michelle’s diaper next to us and she heard this conversation. We both started laughing and tried to explain that bugs may or may not have penis they are still live things.
PS. Boris finally took Michael to the Twins Game today!!! Twins won 6:0 and Michael loved it. He stayed through the whole game.
