Last night, giving Michael (6.5) bath. As he is seating in the bathtub and playing with some toys, he begins a conversation with me:
-Mom, why G-d created head lice?
I am surprised to hear the question, but explained to him that G-d created head lice, so people would choose to take baths and be clean and not let head lice to appear.
Apparently, someone in his class had lice and nurse came to check their heads. Michael told me that he doesn’t have any (sigh of relief!).
He continues the conversation:
-Mom, why G-d created bad people?
I explained:
-G-d did not create bad people, G-d created people and gave them freedom of choice. They can choose to do good things or bad things. This is actually a very good question and you should ask a Rabbi at your synagogue.
Michael:
-Yeah, my favorite Rabbi is Rabbi Zimmerman, only Rabbi is not an expert on G-d!
I am surprised to hear the comment:
-Rabbi is more of an expert on G-d then I am.
Michael raising his voice:
-NO!!! Rabbi doesn’t even know what G-d’s favorite color is!!!
I responded:
-Well, I don’t think that G-d has a favorite color, all colors G-d’s favorites.
Michael raising his voice again trying to proof his point:
-NO!!! I am sure that Pink is not His (G-d’s) favorite!!!
