Breakthrough Idea!!!

Today, I looked at the list of open positions at our college and one position gave me a breakthrough idea.
The position is a faculty position teaching early child development class. I looked at the description and I thought to myself, “hm…. becoming a college instructor is not such a bad idea, I have credentials, experience with kids at the daycare, my own kids, play therapy, parenting, teaching dance at the Harmony Theatre, child development classes in undergrad and grad schools, I have experience working with adults who will be my potential students. The only thing I am lacking is teaching and developing curriculum.”
So, I also started to think about watching out for positions teaching Human Services classes too at community colleges. I am planning to talk to the department of early child development and ask them if they would be willing to hire someone who really wants to learn how to teach college level class and also ask questions about the curriculum.
I will talk to my friend who already teaches at a college.
I started adjusting my resume adding all of my child development related experiences. I guess I need to write a really thoughtful cover letter explaining how my experiences relate to the position.
I do need to get some teaching experience, that's for sure.
I think I am ready to move in that direction.
