It was a nice weekend with the family.  On Saturday night, we all went to the new restaurant Baku to celebrate World War II Victory Day and Mother’s Day.  The restaurant is pretty small and was packed with people.  There was one big party of people from Georgia, our two large tables that fit ten people each and one small table with a family of four in the corner.

The music was very loud, it was impossible to talk when the musicians were singing.  The dance area is also pretty small.  It is a very cute restaurant and food was very good, but I thought that the music could have been a little bit quieter because it was ringing in my ears and I thought that it was at full capacity if not more.

Since all our parents were there, we brought Michael and Michelle with us.  Michelle was seating at the table with Boris then with me then with one grandma then with the grandpa then with the other grandma then with another grandpa and after seating for about an hour, she got tired and started running in the maze of the tables, chairs and big people.  I was running after her, making sure that no one steps on her and not letting her to get to the kitchen area.

She was super cute and everyone smiled at her and she enjoyed all the attention and smiled back at everyone.  People from Georgian party started dancing Georgian dances and the whole restaurant started watching them dance.  They were great!  It turned into a Georgian dance concert.

We couldn’t stay long because Michael and Michelle started rubbing their eyes and yawning, it was already after 10pm and they go to bed around 9pm usually.  So, our family had to leave without trying the dessert.  Both kids fell asleep in the car.

In the morning mama invited us to eat breakfast with them at 10 am.  Michelle woke up before 7am and didn’t want to lie down with us, so I had to get up and start functioning.  After I prepared breakfast for Michelle and Michael I decided to call my friends in Ukraine and Germany to congratulate with the two big holidays.

Boris woke up and went to play soccer as he does it every Sunday morning.  I took kids, went to get flowers and drove over my parents’ house.  On the driveway were already parked two new Toyota Camrys.  One was beige in color and one was light green.  Once I parked in my silver Camry, there were three Camrys in three different colors just like at the dealership.

Breakfast was delicious, then, we went to watch a movie about my dad’s party that I made and that I am redoing now using other materials from other cameras that were recording the party.  Michelle took a nap and  Michael kept asking me when are we going to go for a walk.  Finally, I was ready to take him out for a walk on the trail near my parents’ house.

He brought his skateboard and scooter and still had his bike there.  He picked his bike to go out.  I walked while Michael kept going fast in front of me and then coming back to me.  After a while we decided to turn back and go home.  On the way back Michael asked me if he could get on the hill and ride down the hill while I would watch him.  I did not see anything wrong with that.  It was on the trail, only on the side that we usually don’t go and it was right next to the little bridge over the brook.  I was standing on the path on that bridge and Michael made it up the hill, turned and started riding very fast down.  At the point where I was he wasn’t sure if he could make a 90 degree turn towards me or go straight, so he ended up taking a 45 degree turn that took him into the woods down to the stones and the brook.  When I saw that I started screaming and run after him down.  Luckily, he controlled his bike to the end and fell off on the stones right before getting into the rocky bottom of the brook.  Once he fell, he started crying very loudly and telling me that his knee hurts.

I was trying to calm him down, even though I was shaking myself.  On his pants in the knee area he had a red spot.  I thought that his knee was bleeding and I was ready for the worst.  However, when I looked at his knee there was not even a scratch.

I hugged him and kissed him but he continued to weep very loud.  I had my cell phone and called Boris, who came to eat after soccer and was just leaving my parents’ house to go home.  I told him what happened and asked him to come and help me, even though that area is far away from the road, I hoped that he would park and walk over to us seating in the woods by the brook.

Michael continued to weep and hold his knee like it really hurt him.  I wanted to check if he could walk on it or bend it but he just held it and cried.  So, I left him alone, pulled out the bike on top of the bridge, came back and carried Michael out of there since he refused to walk and continued to cry.

Once on the trail I asked him again to step on the foot.  He refused, crying that it hurts a lot.  So, I put him on his bike and walked him back to my parents’ house.  By the time we got to the road we saw Boris who also just made back there.  I didn’t know if we had to take him to the emergency for x-ray or not.  I know that Michael tends to panic about every little scratch.

Then my parents saw in the window that something was wrong.  They run out to the driveway where Boris and I tried to see what was really with Michael’s knee.  My parents also started looking at it and asking him to straighten it up and then bend and then step on it.  He cried.  I was still shaking and thinking to myself that thanks G-d, he seems to be Ok and that he did not flip over from the bike into the brook and the stones.  I was thinking that in the worst case he might have broken his leg.  My mom made him get up and step on his foot.  He cried but stepped on it and walked a little.  My mom gave him cold pack, put him on the couch and put his knee on the pillows.

Since he walked, we decided that we don’t need to take him to the emergency yet.  Michael continued to lie down for a few minutes.  After a few minutes, he got up and started walking.  After some more time he started running like nothing happened.  It was just a scary accident that ended up with a happy end.

Then we went to the Edina Chucky Cheese’s to celebrate Michael’s cousin’s 8th birthday.  It was quite there and almost empty unlike some other days.  I actually enjoyed being there with the relatives and the kids.  Michelle got to meet Chucky and ride on some baby rides.  She saw the toys over the counter and screamed that she wanted some.

By the time we got home it was already 7pm.  I fed kids and Boris, cleaned up, gave kids bath, put them to beds, read stories and continued to work on my dad’s party movie.  It takes forever to redo it.  I hope it will be done by the end of the week.

We're all good, thank you
Polina forgets she has a cast and likes to run around, jump and dance. On saturday she climbed quickly onto a chair and kinda fell and hit her arm again. She cried and I feared the worst, but it seems like it's ok now. I hope when we go to the doc on wednesday, nothing will have moved under the cast.
