ahka | prelude for "terrible" 2

Michelle is becoming a real toddler. Her behavior is getting out of hand. She likes to do things that we don’t allow her and laugh when we tell her to stop. For example today she kept grabbing and pulling blinds on the kitchen windows. They are dirty and heavy; if they fall on her it would not be good. She has a very strong grip, so I had to wrestle her to make her let go of the blinds and told her that it is not good to do it and that mommy is very mad at her.

So, she started laughing! I told her that it is not funny! So, she continued to try to grab the blinds again several times with this very funny face. After a few attempts, I told her that I will put her in corner in time-out if she will continue. Do you know what she did?

She immediately went to the corner by herself. I felt totally out of control in this situation. My next strategy was to redirect her attention with some of her real toys but she broke my concentration with punishing herself and going into time out.

As she was laughing while doing what she was not supposed to do, I could hardly hold my face disappointed and angry. She is so cute, even Boris doesn’t get angry with her when she does things that Michael gets in trouble for.
