easy going weekend

I had a wonderful easy going weekend.  After feeling dull during the week, my mood positively shifted as on the way to the daycare from work on Friday, I put in my very old CD mix with Eagles’, Bryan Adams, Scorpions, Metallica, etc.  As I was listening to the songs, a lot of good memories came back and I got inspired to do things enthusiastically.

 

I am driving my Maxima now and it doesn’t have USB audio option or blue tooth.  Hopefully, my Camry will be ready tomorrow and would look new (it needs to go through Boris quality control=very tough).  It is always such an inconvenience when something happens to a car that needs to be taken care of for several days (it has been almost a week now).

On Friday, as usually we had in-laws over.  During the week, I just dreamt of sleeping in on Saturday.  I got to sleep until 10am but during the night starting from 1am I was up at first with Mishka, who watched one Russian action movie with grandparents “На игре-2,” had nightmares.  As he was making noises, he woke up Michelle who had a fever.  Her teeth are coming out and she did not feel good.

By about 5 am, I took Michelle to our bed and we fell asleep for a few hours.  Then at 7am I sent Boris with kids away from the bedroom.  I tried to sleep but there were so many noises bothering me.  Garbage trucks were collecting garbage on Saturday because of Memorial Day holiday on Monday.  Then I could hear Michelle crying as Michael was “playing” with her.  I slept on and off until 10am.  When I got up I was tired and sleepy.  It was also dark, cold, and raining outside.

I promised my parents to come over at 1pm to take care of some business.  So, most of the day I spent there with kids while Boris was taking care of our old house issues. 

Since last week Alina and I tried to go to the movies.  So, finally Boris agreed to be with kids while we would go see Sex and the City 2 after she was done with work.

The movie was right on!  A hot topic about mood swings, crying kids, travel and family life, plus glamour, hot man, and a lot of funny stuff.  I enjoyed it very much!  I felt like I was on vacation myself.

When I got home, I was very happy to see Boris and Michelle.  Michael was already sleeping.  Michelle was smiling and went to bed right away without fuss.

Boris told me about the dill.  Yesterday, we had a full flower box of dill and today it was empty, only 7 caterpillars and dirt, not even a leaf left!  Boris went to water it and was shocked to see that it totally disappeared.  He could not believe his eyes until he saw all of the caterpillars.  He was also surprised how they got in there.  The flower box is on our deck pretty high up from the ground and far away form any trees. 

Today, I cooked cooked and cooked.  I baked Hallah bread and cooked yummy dinner. 

Michael had a fever this morning and complained that his throat hurts again.  During the day he was running and playing and screaming like nothing wrong was with him.  I hope he will feel better tomorrow.

I took nap with kids while Boris went play soccer.

In the evening we finally got out of the house for a walk in our park trails.  We walked through the woods and crossed big swamp on a really long bridge, we saw a beaver, really cool birds, duckies, came back to our area and looked at the new construction behind our houses, went to our ponds and decided that we need to buy a canoe.  Kids were happy to throw rocks into the pond, explore nature and construction zone.  It was a good weekend.  I just hope that kids would sleep well and feel better in the morning.
