World News from last week
May. 5th, 2011 08:55 pmIt is easy to avoid some world news and difficult to avoid others. Truly, I am so busy with work, family, friends and theatre + other things; I hardly have time to eat and sleep, let alone follow the news. I listen to the radio (Minnesota Public Radio (MPR) or WCCO) when I drive and of course, FaceBook and web pages that lead to my e-mails also give me glimpses of what’s going on outside my “little” world.
So, starting last Friday, I did not really care about the royal wedding of prince William and Kate. I did not even know that it was happening until I got into my car, turned the radio on and heard everything that correspondents had to tell us about the wedding.
I was on FaceBook before going to bed and suddenly all my friends started posting about Osama’s death. Well, it was the news that truly had nor good nor bad impact on me. Well, I was glad that one goal of our government has been reached but I did not and do not believe that his death would make any difference in the world. He already did his dirty job and created a lot of followers. I wish he would have been caught before he could do the horrific deeds that he did, but we know that could’ve should’ve does not count.
