Michelle for the first time in her life went swimming in the lake last weekend.  She was OK until Michael started splashing water into her face.  She was scared and was holding onto me so tight!

Yesterday, I took kids to the community center pool.  She was scared for the first half of the hour.  She just wanted to seat on the chair with me.  Right before the pool was closing, she got more comfortable playing with the water that  she didn’t want to get out of there.  She was afraid to go deeper into the water and cried when I took her there.

What’s going on with my kids?  Both of them are scared for the water.  Well, they are fine in the bathtub but not in the pool or lake.  Michael is not scared of water anymore after I took him for a few months to the Foss swim school (against his will) but still can’t swim and refuses to be thought.

Maybe I should sign Michelle for swimming lessons now, while she is little, so she can get over that fear quicker?

I went with Zoya to a free class (they offered those in June). After attending, we decided that it wasn't something that we needed for Zoya, since she's very comfortable in the water and since this class isn't about really teaching them to swim, however, I think it's something that would be good for Michelle, judging by what you're describing
