I was thinking that we all go through life and experience something negative from time to time.
Sometimes we get in touch with difficult people who on purpose try to do something bad to us, just out of their ego-centrism and feeling of not having enough of whatever they want (ex. Lavan)...

The question that comes to my mind is "WHY?"  "oh Why is this happening to us?"
So, while driving yesterday, I started thinking about the story "Life of Pi."  At one point, Pi said that fear of the tiger kept him alive.  The fear made him be more aware of his surroundings, be more intentional, be responsible, be ready for the unknown, and basically stay on his toes.

I wonder if our negative events have the same purpose, to keep us on our toes, so we make intentional decisions in our lives and are aware of what we are doing?
Of course, if we don't experience negative, it is hard to appreciate the positive.  The healthy ratio positive to negative is actually 5:1.  It means that for every negative event there must be at least 5 or more positive things that we appreciate.
