Learning to draw!

1st lesson.
On Friday, I got from my sister info about
za_me4toj project. I always wanted to learn to draw and paint but always thought that my hands have grown from some other place and I would not be able to learn to draw ever. Some days, I would see a scenery and dream to myself “I wish I could draw a picture of this!” with a supporting regretful thought that I will never be able to do it.
About a year ago, I attended a counseling training where presenter made us draw a horse upside down. I did not think I could do it but I did it and was extremely impressed. That taught me that if someone would teach me, I can learn.
I also did not have very good experience in childhood. In school we never had art because we took time for other, more important subjects instead of art. I was very artistic child and used dance as my creative outlet.
Also, when I joined an art studio at theдом пионеров, we were told to draw whatever we want and I had no clue how to draw and what to draw. I truly somehow never had paints, or pencils in my hands. I ended up taking an idea from my friend and draw my version of a rabbit from the cartoon. I never wanted to go back to that studio again because I felt horrible that I had no clue how to draw and come up with idea what to draw. I was probably 7 years old.
Now, that I read about this project, it sounds like everyone can learn to draw if someone would teach you. They use Betty Edward’s teaching program. I have never heard of her and of this program. Learning something new everyday!!!
I really liked their explanation that we need to learn to pay attention to the lines and turn off our Left side of the brain and use only the Right one (I think I got it right now :). They explained that they will teach us how to see things deeper and different from what I see now.
I read about this project on Friday and had no time to try. I don’t do any creative work on Shabat plus this was Yom Kippur, I long-sufferingly waited until it was over to try their drawing assignments. To my surprise I drew my hand and it looked not so bad. I used to draw worse than kids with sticks and circles before. Now, that I started paying more attention to the lines and not complicate myself with the whole image, it appears that I can learn to draw!!!
It was after midnight today, here is my arm:

Here is Steve Jobs giving his Stanford University commencement speech. Btw, watch his speech!!!
RIP Steve Jobs!
I haven't had time to do another upside down drawing yet, but I will! I am so excited!!!! I can't believe, I did what I already did!
